Vera U. Ogbo-Ikwue is the Director, Special Insured Institutions Department (SIID), NDIC. She has served: As a Deputy Director (DD) and Zonal Controller, Enugu Zonal office, NDIC; a DD/Team Lead in BED, NDIC, which is responsible for the on-site supervision of all DMBs; Previously, in Finance Department, in various leadership roles including Head, ePayment office, Head Zonal Accounts and Head Budgets Unit; in various capacities from a pioneer Examiner to Team Lead FED and in IT Examination as well as in numerous bank examination assignments; Also, in several Bank Closures as Closing Manager in a number of DMBs and Microfinance banks.
Over the past 32years, she has handled various other responsibilities in NDIC including membership of interagency committees like the eFAS implementation, Basel implementation and in the FSSC/Macro prudential Policy implementation committee.
Vera is an Honors Degree graduate of Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She is an alumnus of the Said Business School, Oxford University UK (Executive Education). She is Fellow, Association of Enterprise Risk Management Practitioners (AERMP); Senior Associate, Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN) and HCIB, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
Vera has attended various local and international courses spanning various areas of knowledge, organised by institutions like the Lagos Business School LBS, Lagos, RIPPA UK, the Federal Reserve, Washington USA, FDIC Arlington VA, USA, amongst others. Vera is an outstanding FELLOW of the Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals, AERMP.
